Maybe allow the user to sign up for daily, weekly, or live news posts. A daily email could come at 6 am every day, with top news and updates from the last 24 hours. Like the morning paper, but more reliable. Then to subsidize it, said email contains a few ads. The paper could then promote track ability, and link backs for the advertiser. Could be a win win.
